Lá Fhéile Pádraig

We’re going BIG this year for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade! As well as our usual army of young marchers from our Academy, camogie and ladies football displaying their skills at our games, we want to promote our One Club Model, our All-Stars, Healthy Club National award, our ceoltóirí óga, caint is craic, Season of Respect etc, so we’re having a float, decked out in the club colours, with our young musicians playing on board and banners promoting our comprehensive range of club activities.

For insurance purposes we need at least 8-10 adults walking beside the float, so if you would like to be part of this great civic occasion, with all the music, noise and razmataz, please contact the club Oifigeach gaeilge agus Cultúr, Jimmy Cooney (0876820572) and he’ll take it from there. Unfortunately, without the adults marching beside the wheels, we can’t have a float, so all help greatly appreciated.

Club Leagues

Adult hurling and football leagues begin from Sat 9th March with our senior hurlers and U18 footballers out in action this Sat and Sun respectively and our intermediate and junior ladies both out on Sunday.

Please note all fixtures have been added to the Éire Óg Clubzap page, where it is also possible to filter teams to view specific ones.

The times and any changes will be updated once they are confirmed so be sure to download the app to keep up to date. Click here from your mobile to download: https://clubzap.page.link/cUbzPcEH57LtmpHL7

Golf Classic Prizegiving

After a difficult 2023 on the golf course we are finally able to present prizes to all our winners on this Friday night in the Clubhouse (Back Bar) at 9.45pm. Apologies for the delay. We got off to a good start in 2023 with well attended and enjoyable outings to Shannon G.C. and Portumna G.C. However, the Golf Society then began to act in the manner of a reverse Child of Prague as our next four outings had to be cancelled due to the weather! Even our Ger O’Meara Memorial Classic fell foul of the weather and had to be deferred by a month. We got there in the end though and thanks to everyone for their patience and support as always. Results for our outings in 2023 below and we hope to see all prize winners on Friday night. All are welcome 😊

Healthy Club updates

All-Stars

Our All-Stars have completed their current round of training, a huge thanks to all the volunteers that helped out, and to the kids and their parents who turn out in great spirits each week. The next block begins on April 16th.

Ahead of the Game

Over the past number of months The GAA, GPA and Movember have embarked on a unique partnership to bring the Movember ‘Ahead of the Game’ mental health literacy programme to clubs across the 32 counties of Ireland.

Wednesday night was our turn in CLG Éire Óg where our U15 boys hurling and football teams had a one hour talk from Carol O’ Leary a former Clare football and Camogie player and Martin Stackpoole Kerry hurler about mental health. There was also a one hour talk for their support network of parents, coaches, and volunteers.

Ahead of the Game is the most evidence-based youth sport mental health literacy programme in the world, having undergone several trials and the GAA, GPA and Movember were delighted to bring this programme to CLG Éire Óg U 15 boys tonight.

Thank you to all concerned for a very professional and informative talk.

Running group

Following on from the successes of our Couch to 5K we are continuing to meet on a casual basis on different evenings during the week for 4 or 5K jogs. If you are interested in taking part get in touch with healthy club officer Noreen Vaughan by email: eireoginishealthofficer@yahoo.com or text: 087 6449781
