Adult Club Championships
Buckle up people, we have a very exciting weekend ahead with two adult County Finals and an underage one also on the menu!
On Saturday at 3pm, our intermediate camogie team will take on Broadford Bodyke in their bid to bring the Fr. Liam Murray Cup home to Clonroadmore, and onto Sunday at 3.30 when our senior footballers will leave it all out on the pitch in their efforts to keep the Jack Daly Cup.
A very special weekend for the club and we encourage every man woman and child to make their way to the sidelines to give our teams the support to help get them over the line.
Wishing every success to both teams and their respective managements, well done on your efforts all year and lets hope it all pays off at the weekend.
Links and logistics for both games can be found further down.
Best wishes also to our U14 hurlers who head to Feakle Sunday morning where they take on the Mills in the U14B final, throw in 10.15am.
Our junior B hurlers are in semi final action v Kilmaley on Thursday evening in Clarecastle. Throw in is 8pm. The very best of luck to Alan and the team.

A huge thank you to physiotherapists Darren O’ Neill & Maeve McInerney for the care, time and support they have given our players throughout the season and to Kieran Connelly who will be with us at the game tomorrow.
A special thank you to our super stats team, John, Nora Áine, Sinéad & Alanna for their work, time and effort. Your commitment behind the scenes are greatly appreciated.
Let’s get a big Éire Óg crowd to Tulla and make it a day to remember!
A sincere thank you to everyone who has supported our intermediate camogie team on their journey to the county final.
First and foremost, a huge thank you to our main club sponsors, the Lyne family of Cruises, for their continued support of Éire Óg.
We would also like to thank Fiona & Liam O’Doherty of Gildoc and Gerry Cahill of PPG SCM Shannon Ltd. for sponsoring training tops and half-zips for the team. Your support is greatly appreciated and ensures our players are kitted out in style!
Thank you to Sinéad & Paudie Guerin of Peppermill for treating the team and management to a delicious breakfast. It was very much appreciated.
We would also like to acknowledge Bernie Warren, John Russell, Elizabeth Russell, Gerry Curran and Elaine McCarthy for their generous support of the team.
Another huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the fundraising link circulated in support of our intermediate camogie team ahead of their county final.
A special word of thanks to Nora Culligan’s Bar, Eoin Doohan of DFP Pension & Investment Consultants, John O’Sullivan, Michael Mac Namara, Mary McMahon and Mick Meagher for their generous support and contribution to the team.
We would also like to thank Dervilla Maloney, Aaron Fitzgerald, Martin Connellan, Ultan Sheils, Tom & Assumpta, Aileen & Jim Redmond, Kevin Brennan, Aidan McGrath and Sinéad O’Donoghue for their kindness and generosity.
Every contribution is greatly appreciated and makes a real difference in supporting our players and management. We are fortunate to have such fantastic support behind Éire Óg and we thank each and every one of you for getting behind our intermediate camogie team on their journey to the county final.
And finally, thank you to our camogie subcommittee. There’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to support our teams. From organising, planning, meeting and making sure players and management have what they need, it’s a team effort all round! So thank you.

Junior C:
Our Junior C team reached the end of their action this year after losing out to Feakle Killanena in last Sunday’s shield semi final in Feakle. Hard luck to the team, a place in the final wasn't won but plenty of silver lining with 5 competitive games under the belt for the players; some former players returning, new joiners and valuable adult experience for several of our U16s who have well and truly put themselves on the radar to play intermediate. Thank you to all those that supported the team, and to their management: Tom Russell, Pat McMahon, Bernie Warren, Mandy Murphy and Mary McMahon. Townies Abú!
U16s:
Our U16 camogie team have their last round game v Whitegate in Éire Óg at 12pm on Saturday, 24th October. Referee: Áine Ní Cormaic.
The very best of luck to John and his management team and the girls
Academy
Academy
t's another huge weekend for Éire Óg, with Academy teams competing in county finals and our senior footballers and camogie players also hoping to bring silverware back to the Town. There's plenty to look forward to, but first we reflect on a disappointing end to the season for our Minor hurlers.
Our Minor hurlers bowed out of the championship last Sunday following a six-point defeat to a strong Clooney-Quin side. Unfortunately, two early goals proved to be the difference between the teams and left our lads with a difficult task. To their credit, they never stopped battling, keeping the scoreboard ticking over and working hard to get themselves back into contention. However, despite their best efforts, they couldn't get closer than two points, with Clooney-Quin finding their scores that little bit easier throughout the game.
While it was a disappointing way to finish the campaign, the lads can hold their heads high. There has been plenty of progress and development throughout the year, and experiences like these, although difficult at the time, are an important part of learning and improving. We have no doubt that there are future Éire Óg senior hurlers among this group.
A sincere thank you to all the players for their hard work, dedication and commitment throughout the season. A special word of thanks also to the management team, who have given countless hours to coaching, preparing and supporting the lads, always striving to improve every player across the panel. Your efforts are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to seeing this group continue to develop in the years ahead.
There was better news for our U14 footballers, who produced a fantastic performance to defeat Lissycasey in a very entertaining Shield semi-final on Sunday morning. It was a brilliant team effort, with the lads showing great determination and character to secure their place in the final. Congratulations to all the players and management on a well-deserved victory. The boys now have a final to look forward to, and we wish them the very best of luck as they prepare for the big occasion.
Our U14 Academy footballers are also preparing for a final as they take on Wolfe Tones on Wednesday evening at 7pm under lights. It promises to be another exciting occasion for this group, and hopefully we can get plenty of Townie support along to cheer them on.
Before those football finals, our U14 hurlers have a big day ahead as they take on O'Callaghan's Mills in the U14B final in Feakle on Sunday morning. Reaching a county final is a fantastic achievement and a great reward for the effort and commitment shown by the lads and their management throughout the season.
To have so many of our U14 teams competing in finals is something everyone involved in the Academy can be extremely proud of. It reflects the hard work being put in by the players and coaches, and the continued development of our young footballers and hurlers. Of course, we would love to bring home some silverware, but regardless of the results, these experiences will stand to the lads for years to come. Best of luck to all our teams and management groups!
Academy Training Update
Friday evening marks our final scheduled Academy training session for the season, after which our teams will take a well-earned break for a few weeks.
It's been another fantastic year, with great numbers, enthusiasm and commitment from our young players. We hope everyone has enjoyed their training, matches and blitzes, and we're sure a few of our volunteer coaches are looking forward to a little break too!
While regular Academy training is finishing up, it's particularly encouraging to see the growing interest across the club in continuing to develop our young players through specific skills work and fundamental movement skills such as running, jumping, balance and coordination. These are hugely important building blocks for children, not just in hurling and football but in their overall physical development. Further comms will be sent directly in the ClubZap groups.
We would also encourage any parents who are interested in getting involved in coaching to keep an eye out for coaching courses and training opportunities organised by Éire Óg or Clare GAA. You don't need to be an experienced coach to make a difference. A willingness to learn, help out and encourage our young players is all that's needed to get started. The more people we have involved, the stronger our Academy and club will be.
A Huge Weekend for Éire Óg!
It's a massive weekend for the club, with two county finals to look forward to!
On Saturday, our intermediate camogie team take to the field in Tulla, while on Sunday, all roads lead to Cusack Park as our senior footballers bid for county honours and 3 in a row! We wish both teams and their management the very best of luck and hope to see huge Townie support at both games.
Our U8 boys and girls will cheer the senior footballers out of the dressing room on Sunday. What a special experience for our youngest Townies! Who knows, some of these boys and girls could be running out for a senior county final themselves in years to come.
It's weekends like this that remind us what Éire Óg is all about, from our youngest Academy players right through to our senior teams, all proudly representing the Town.
A huge thank you to all our volunteer coaches, parents and supporters for everything they do throughout the year. Without you, none of this would be possible.
Let's get out, wear our red and white with pride, support all our teams in a positive and respectful manner and hopefully bring some silverware back to the Town!
