2024 Lá na gClub

Date for your diary-we will be holding our 2024 Lá na gClub/Family Fun Day on Bank Holiday Monday, 1st of April from 2 to 6 pm. The day is being organised by the participants of the Dermot Earley programme and there will be plenty of fun and games in store. More info to follow.

Comhghairdeas leis an bhfoireann iontach

A huge conrgats to our Scór sinsear quiz team who retained their Clare title in a nail biting finish. The team comprised Jimmy Cooney, Gearóid Ó hEarcáin, Martin Nugent and Pat Quinn. Scór Munster Quiz final will be held in Newport on April 13th.

Club Games

Intermediate camogie get their league campaign off to a start with the annual trip to Whitegate on Saturday 23rd at 1pm. At 4pm it’s senior hurling round 2 v Tulla in Éire Óg. The junior A hurlers have to wait a little longer to get started as Wolfe Tones conceded points for their scheduled game on Sunday. Our U18 footballers travel to Quilty on Sunday evening at the changed time of 5pm to take on KIB.

Underage Updates

Academy

Monday and Friday Academy boys training continues at 6pm until the evenings stretch, keep an eye on social media for updates on return to a 6.30 start. Our U15 footballers are away to Corofin at 11am on Saturday in the first round of the division 2 league.

Camogie/Ladies Football

Our U6, U8, U10 and U12 camogie and ladies footballers return to training on Saturday, we are delighted to welcome back returning members and also to seeing new faces join the fold.

St. Patricks Day

A huge thanks to all that turned out to represent the club in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, a huge effort was made by all involved. It was great to see our All-Stars lead the way, and some of our young players swap the caman for the instruments, all backed up by a red and white army of children and adults. Clare Games

Wishing the very best of luck to the Clare senior footballers and hurlers out in action on Sunday. The footballers play their last round game away to Down at 2pm, while the hurlers travel to Portlaoise for a 4pm throw in v Tipp in the league semi final.

On Saturday, the Clare U20 footballers host Tipp in Quilty in round 2. We are delighted to have two Éire Óg players involved with the team, Luke Pyne and Cian Howard.

Please note that this year we will only be sending emails regarding applications for tickets for Clare games to members paid up for the 2024 season. Please ensure your email is entered to our systems accurately as we will also be sending ticket purchase links out via email. Player membership is now due, other members must pay by March 31st to be eligible to vote at AGM, or to be elected as Officers on the club Executive.

NB: An email will issue to 2024 members in the coming weeks with regards to applying for tickets for Clare v Limerick round 1 in Cusack Park on April 21st.

TICKETS – MUNSTER SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP

Tickets for 7 of the 10 Round Robin games in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship will go on sale on Wednesday March 27th at 10am via www.gaa.ie/tickets and via participating Centra and Supervalu outlets. Tickets for both games scheduled for Walsh Park Waterford (Waterford v Cork & v Tipperary) in addition to the Cusack Park Ennis meeting of Clare and Limerick will be distributed via the participating County Boards.

Gaeltacht Scholarship

Munster GAA is delighted to announce a new scholarship competition for second-level students aged between 12–17 years, wishing to attend a Gaeltacht course this Summer (minimum stay 2 weeks).One Full scholarship per county in the province will be awarded. Scholarships will cover the full cost of the Gaeltacht course. Entry requirements are as follows:

Applicants aged 12 – 17 are required to submit a video recording in Irish of ONE MINUTE’S duration on the following Topic:

An t-Imreoir is fearr liom (Based on Gaelic games of all codes)

Video to also include a brief introduction of self from the student, outlining their interest in Gaeilge and our culture.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday March 27th

Gaelic Football for Mothers n Others

Fun, fitness and skills are back on the cards as our G4MO weekly group sessions return from Tuesday April 2nd in the astro at Éire Óg. The session runs from 7 to 8pm and is open to all levels of fitness and ability. Contact Verona on 086 042 5459 with any queries.
