Irish Survey

In my role as Oifigeach Gaeilge (Irish Language Officer) for Éire Óg, I enrolled the club in the Joe McDonagh Foundation (Fondúireacht Sheosaimh Mhic Dhonnchadh), the aim of which is to encourage the use of Irish in the life of GAA clubs through a number of initiatives.  Some of these we have introduced over the past while, including our Caint is Craic Thursday evening sessions, our Ceoltóirí Oga who competed in Scór na bPáistí last year and our involvement in the GAA Scór Sinsear competition, where we won the Clare County Tráth na gCeist for the past 2 years.  Other initiatives we hope to introduce over the coming months.

The GAA and Glór na nGael have devised an online questionnaire for club parents, to ascertain the level and interest in Irish among members and I would greatly appreciate if parents/guardians would take a few minutes to complete it by clicking on the link below..  I hope the results will act as a guide in progressing the initiatives of the Fondúireacht into the future.  If possible, I will share  the results with club members in a general way, without encroaching on respondent’s privacy.

Beir bua,
