Thanks to our volunteers Noreen, Tríona, Joanne, Anthony and Kevin who facilitated the programme last year.

The programme will be rolled out again this year, beginning immediately after the Halloween break. We are looking for more volunteers to help facilitate the programme. | Academy News

Busy week gone by with plenty of activity on the playing fields.  The U6 group continues to see good numbers attending. We are grateful for the help we are receiving from parents offering to give a hand at hurling and football sessions.

Football Festival at St. Judes GAA, Templelogue, Dublin
Our 2015/16 born footballers are travelling to Dublin on Sunday having been invited to take part in a mini All-Ireland Gaelic Football Blitz. Clubs from all over the country are making the trip to what promises to be a fantastic day out.

The U12 hurlers welcomed Ennistymon to Éire Óg on Monday for two very competitive Go-Games matches.

Our U15 Academy Hurlers had a mixed week going down to Kilmaley on Saturday before bouncing back to beat Corofin-Ruan on Wednesday evening. The lads travel to Shannon to take on Wolfe Tones on Saturday morning in Rd. 3

A very important win for our minor footballers on Wednesday evening where they beat St. Breckan's on a scoreline of 2-15 to 3-06. With one round to play in Division 1 of the championship the final placings will not be determined until Sunday week when we host Lissycasey in Éire Óg.

Wishing our minor hurlers the best in Sunday morning's U17A Championship 1/4 Final Versus Inagh-Kilnamona in Éire Óg at 11am. A place in the semi-final against either St. Joseph's or Cratloe is on offer to the winners. Hope to see plenty support for our lads on Sunday.

| Munster GAAStudent Bursaries 2024/2025

The GAA have again reiterated their commitment to the ongoing educational development of its players and members by announcing details of the 2024/25 GAA National Student Bursary scheme.  The scheme is open to members of the Association who are attending a full-time Higher Education course (except those who hold another GAA-related or college scholarship/bursary) and who are active participants in their Higher Education club; to date the GAA has invested over €1.5 million in the time that its Bursary Schemes have been in existence.

The schemes are administered by the respective Provincial Councils and recipients will again be selected based on a range of criteria, including their playing, coaching or administrative commitments to the GAA. A number of awards in each province will be reserved for those excelling in the areas of coaching and administration.  Applications for the scheme will be considered by a sub-committee in each province; each bursary granted will be for €1,000/£800.

Further information and application forms for this year’s scheme are available to download from provincial council offices and respective websites.  All completed forms should be returned to the relevant Provincial Council and the closing date for applications will be Thursday October 10th. (see application form and guidelines attached).  Senior Intercounty players who were on their County’s Senior Panel in 2024 should apply for Bursaries via the Gaelic Players Association; further information at www.gaelicplayers.com.
