Éire Óg Inis St. Stephen’s Day Tournament sponsored by Sherry FitzGerald McMahon - 26th December, 2024
As we wrap up the year of sport in Eire Og and write our letters to Santa (praying that I don't make the naughty list again 🙂), our minds turn to the annual Éire Óg St. Stephen’s Day tournament. This year our annual tournament is sponsored by Sherry FitzGerald McMahon. We are looking to all current and former adult players (both men and women) to sign up with a team from the list below -
● Shanaway Road (our reigning champions) – (led by Brian Cooney & Sarah Redmond
● Gallow’s Hill/Turnpike (current Shield winners) – (led by Philly Walsh & Elizabeth Russell)
● Gort Road (led by Liam Corry & Eva White)
● Lahinch Road (led by Colin Reidy & Edel Malone)
● Kilrush Road (led by Kevin Brennan & Aimee Lyne)
● Flannan’s Road (led by Kevin Moynihan & Amelie Malice)
● Tulla Road (led by Dean D’Auria)
● Clare Road (led by James McSweeney & Orla Devitt)
The tournament is open to all current and former female and male adult players plus any girls graduating from our U16 team and any boys coming out of the minor/U17 grade this year plus we are hoping our successful “Mothers and Others” group will partake too.
The format and rules will be similar to last year with all games played on the day and culminating in a cup and shield final before a packed crowd. The coffee dock will be open all day and further festivities are planned for the club bar later that evening.
So, sign up for your local team, skip the sales and join the activities down on the Clonroad on Stephen’s Day. Visit the club Facebook page at 7.30pm Thursday 19th December to view the live draw for Stephen’s Day. More details to follow in the next few weeks.
Many thanks to Diarmuid McMahon and the team at Sherry FitzGerald McMahon for their sponsorship. If you want to sign up to a team or just help out on the day then call/text Mike Brennan (086-2431940) or Niall O’Connor (087-6715568).
