Ladies Football
LGFA Academy
A very busy few weeks for the underage ladies’ footballers. The U16s played 2 games, the first against the Banner in a match to reach the Shield final. The girls had a comfortable win, and progressed to play West Clare Gaels in Kilrush. An epic match ensued with the girls just losing out after extra time, despite giving it their all.
The U15 Feile competition took place in Clooney Quin, and the team registered 2 good wins against the Banner and Kilmurry, but an agonizing 1 point defeat against Clooney Quin denied them a place in the final.
The U14 Red team had 2 very good wins over Crusheen and the Banner, racking up some impressive scores. The U14 White team were beaten in a close match by Clooney Quin, but then picked up their first win of the season with victory over Wolfe Tones. Next up are games against Miltown Malbay for the White team and Newmarket on Fergus for the Red team.
The U12s will line out in their second blitz of the year in the Banner on Sunday.
The U10s will have their first blitz in Kilkee, also on Sunday.
The U8s travelled to Shannon for their first blitz, with 3 teams participating. Some great skill and determination were shown; the future is looking bright!
