Tomorrow at 1.15 in Cusack Park our Junior footballers take on Naomh Eoin in the Junior A football Championship final.

Win, lose or draw, there will be one person to the fore in every Éire Óg persons mind tomorrow. Last year we sadly lost a dear friend and true Éire Óg man, Eugene McNamara. Eugene was part of the winning junior football team in 2001 and despite not seeing out the entire game due to injury he made it his business to get a run in the Park with his team on County Final day.  Following his own playing career, Eugene continued his lifelong involvement with Éire Óg, promoting both codes and being part of a group that spent many hours in meetings and on the phone to players to ensure the continuation of a second adult football team.

There is nowhere else Eugene would be tomorrow, let’s see and hear every Éire Óg man, woman and child in the stands shouting our lads on. Townies Abu.
