In 2019, Éire Óg Inis GAA launched a club development plan which aspired to provide its members with modern playing, training and social facilities in keeping with a club of its stature. The construction of 2 new club dressing rooms, renovation of the clubhouse facility and the provision of a new spectator stand formed parts of this plan. The club finance and fundraising committee were instructed by the executive to oversee fundraising efforts that would best suit the execution of this plan while also maintaining fundraising that would assist with the day to day running of the club. In early 2020, Phase 1 of the plan to erect a spectator stand commenced. With acquired funding, Phase 2 and the construction of 2 new dressing rooms will commence in 2021.
After much thought and consideration, to enable us complete Phase 1 of this project and kick-start phase 2, the committee conceived the idea of a “Stand up for the Future” scheme, whereby club members, members of the public and Éire Óg Inis GAA supporters across the globe, could be represented at the club in a unique way. The scheme gives us all the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy for the generations to come. It is our chance to honour our fellow clubmen and women, living and dead, who have shaped GAA in this club and town. Perhaps you want to declare your own unwavering commitment to our club? Perhaps a great GAA follower has passed away, and you would like their name etched into our future?
Having your name on our new stand will ensure that your family’s contribution and support of our club is witnessed by all throughout the county and further afield who visit our club. For contributing, a Plaque bearing your chosen inscription will be placed in the Stand. With a good uptake of the scheme, we will be in a position to complete Phase 1 (Stand) without drawing on club funds which are needed for the day to day running of the club
This scheme is a very ambitious one, and one which we hope all club members and supporters will fully support. The pricing structure was decided after much debate and discussion. We fully understand the financial pressures club members are under at this current time. Each dedication in the new Stand costs €100 if purchased by a one-off payment. By choosing the easy way payment instalment option, 5 monthly instalments of €20 can be made. Your subscription will entitle you to
