On my own behalf and on behalf of everybody in Éire Óg, I would like to congratulate all our Leaving Cert students who received their results today. It has been a most difficult and frustrating year for you, with schools being closed from mid-March, the challenges of remote learning, the uncertainty regarding the actual exam itself, whether written or assessed and the delay in issuing results, leading to worry regarding College places. All the above was caused by the Covis crisis, which itself was an added source of stress and indeed much more for those immediately affected by it.
We are immensely proud of our young people and we salute you for the resilience you have shown throughout this year. I hope the result you received reflects the effort you have made and that you are pleased with the outcome, whether that be in the Leaving Cert or Leaving Cert Applied. I hope you are able to celebrate your results with your family, I wish you the very best in whatever career choice you have made for the future and wherever that choice leads you, always remember to stay connected with Éire Óg Inis.
Go néirí go geal libh,
Jimmy Cooney
