After the success of the Healthy Clubs Steps challenge earlier this year, Éire Óg have joined the GAA/Sports Ireland initiative to encourage walking at our club grounds. While we don't have a purpose built walking track, already the perimeter of our pitches are used for walking. We have marked out the approximate distance and are encouraging club members and members of the community to use them to get some extra steps in.
Unfortunately at present these walks are not buggy or wheelchair friendly but that is something we would like to develop in the future.
We have some times scheduled on the Get Ireland Walking app which you can use to book a walking time, this is not necessary but would give us a good indication of the amount of interest/use in the walking track.
Remember to adhere to Covid advice in terms of social distancing, face coverings and hand sanitising. Please note due to Covid regulations in terms of limits of numbers at the pitch during games, the pitch walks are not permitted while games are taking place.
Thanks to Eanna Murphy for providing drone pics of the pitch used in poster.
