Following a great win over Ballyea last Sunday, next weekend sees our Junior A hurlers take on the Banner in the quarter finals of the championship. The game is provisionally set for Sunday, Sept 11th in Gurteen. Well done lads, and the very best of luck.
After last weekends win over Clooney Quin in an epic round 3 tussle, our senior hurlers await the draw for the quarter finals, this is expected to happen Monday and their potential opponents are Cratloe, Inagh Kilnamona or Sixmilebridge. The quarter finals take place on the weekend of the 24/25th Sept.
Hard luck to our junior B hurlers who have been up against it in this year’s championship, thanks to each and every one of you that have donned the red and white to line out for your club.

We are hosting an u10 blitz this Saturday at 11:15 with St. Joseph's and Corofin. Despite a 4 point lead into the 2nd half, our intermediates eventually lost out to Corofin after a goal from a free for Corofin proved a turning point in the game in Éire Óg last night. The game ended 0.09 to 3.05 in favour of the visitors. The team will travel to take on a highly rated Whitegate in two weeks time in the final round of group games. Our U16 team host Corofin tonight at 7pm. On Sunday our minors travel to Shannon to play Wolfe Tones at 6.30pm and on Wednesday they host Corofin at 7pm.
Academy
Our U8s had a great evening in Cratloe on Thursday enjoying their Go-Games Football matches. Thanks to coaches and parents who brought along 35 kids to the blitz.
Our U10s are in Clarecastle on Friday evening for their first blitz at the age group.
Our U12s hosted Banner and Kilkee/Bealaha last Saturday morning in the hurling Go-Games. This group play Clooney-Quin and Kildysart in two football matches in Eire Og on Sunday at 5pm.
Best of luck to our U14 hurlers who kick-start their "A" Championship away to Clonlara on Saturday morning.
Well done to our minor hurlers who had a comprehensive win over Clonlara this week in the penultimate round of the "A" Championship. A win was necessary as it will be in the final round in two weeks if they are to have a chance of making the semi-finals.
The minor Academy team travel to Clooney-Quin on Friday evening in their last game in the "A" grade. The lads have competed very well in all their games considering the age profiles of the players ranging from 14 to 16 years.
Big game on Wednesday for our minor footballers who take on Clarecastle in Eire Og in the second last game of Div. 2/3.
Well done to all of our Academy players who have been representing the club on the various underage county development squads in both hurling and football at U14, U15 and U16 during the year. We also had players on both Co. Minor squads during this years Minor Championships. It was good to see some silverware won by the U14 and U15 Hurling development squads last weekend with Eire Og players on both.
