Congrats to our senior footballers who overcame Corofin in last week’s semi, the final score not really reflecting the test provided by Corofin, particularly in the first half. A County final date beckons, next Sunday at 2pm in Cusack Park. Their counterparts in minor saw off the challenge of Wolfe Tones after a dramatic extra time and penalties finish to the game. Hard luck to Wolfe Tones, a truly heartbreaking way for any team to exit the championship. We meet Clarecastle in the final next weekend, time and venue tbc.

A huge well done to our U13B camogie team and our U14 Div 1 footballers who clinched County titles last weekend, there was great excitement and lots of noise made car beeping through the town!

County finals

Reeling in the Year’s for Éire Óg’s 70th birthday!
A reminder that the 70th anniversary of the founding of Éire Óg will be marked by an informal get-together in the clubhouse on Friday October 21st from 7.30pm. The event, consisting of a remembrance service, a pictorial trip down memory lane and some refreshments, is of course open to all members, but there's a special welcome for former players, officials and team managers, who wish to renew old friendships, swap tall tales of daring deeds and relive battles won and lost.

Many former players and club officers, some of whom may have lost contact over the years, were written to, informing them of the evening, but if anyone was missed or if you know of someone who you feel would like to go, please bring them along.

It will be a very informal, casual event for the club to show appreciation to those great Townies who got us to where we are today.

Camogie
Well done to our U13s who are ‘B’ County Champions after a great win over neighbours Doora Barefield last Sunday.

Our Minor footballers continue their preparations for the Div. 2 Final v Clarecastle due to take place next weekend. Date and venue TBC later.

Huge thanks to Brian Pyne Tiles for sponsoring a set of Training Tops for the panel in advance of the final.

U10 Football Blitz with Clooney-Quin and Kilrush in Eire Og on Saturday at 10.15.

U8 Hurling Go-Games with Ballyea on Saturday at 4.45 in Eire Og (curtain raiser to the big match)

Best wishes to the Senior Hurling Panel and management in Sunday's Co. Final. We urge as many parents as possible to bring our Academy players along to Cusack Park to cheer on the team. The panel is dotted with former Academy players and a number of our current coaches.
