| Comhghairdeachas The Club Executive are delighted to congratulate Rory Hickey on his recent appointment as Referee Administrator for Clare GAA. Rory was ratified at last Wednesday evening's meeting of the County Board Delegates for the position, a position he narrowly lost out to Sèanie McMahon in a vote at a similar meeting of the County Board Delegates in 2022.
Rory, a high-profile referee in his own right, brought the curtain down on his time in the middle of 2019 following a 20-year career officiating at the top level when he first broke through onto the national scene taking charge of several high-profile fixtures including the infamous Munster Football final between Cork and Limerick, an All-Ireland Minor Football final and an All Ireland Club Football final. Rory has also been involved in numerous provincial and Club deciders at all ages throughout his 20 years i làr na Pàirce.
Rory is a man of many talents from Refereeing at all levels to Club MC to all round Clubman. Rory has been and continues to be a tremendous Clubman for Éire Og and we wish him all the success in his new role as Referee Administrator for Clare GAA.
