An appreciation written for Micko McNamara, who took the role chairman of the club football club back in 1974. Micko is grandfather to Killian McNamara who is proving to be a chip off the old block as seen by all the work he has done to promote football in keeping our third football team (Junior B) engaged and active the past few years. Some of our members of a certain vintage recall back in the day that players would assemble at the ‘Height’ where Micko would pull in and pile them into his Morris Minor before heading back West for games.
