Cardiac Screening

There has been good uptake for Cardiac Screening for Sudden Adult Death Syndrome at the clubhouse on Sat Feb 11th, 2023. There are currently spots still available for anyone interested. It is advised to have this check done every 2 years, esp for those that play sport. This opportunity is open to anyone aged 12 and over at the reduced price of €72 (*free to those with LAYA and possible to claim back a % with other health insurers).

Club Membership

2023 Club membership for all sections of the club is now available to purchase online.

Please note, those paying monthly by standing order do not need to register through the online link and can disregard any reminder emails you may have received.

Every Step Counts Challenge

Many thanks to the 130 people that have joined Éire Óg for this years Healthy Clubs Steps Challenge. It’s great to see so many from the club and wider community clocking their steps and getting themselves out and about as they do so. Whether you hit 2 or 20 KM a day, remember that every step makes an impact on our collective KMs clocked. If you haven’t already joined, feel free to do so.

If you have joined but your steps aren’t synching to the app, you may find help here in the FAQ section from Irish Life: https://mylife.irishlife.ie/faq/tracking

Please note there are several ways to track your activities:

1. Through your fitness tracking wearable (Fitbit etc)

2. Through the My Life app (automatic step counter or Track walks etc)

3. Through the health app on your mobile

*For those using the iPhone Health app, you will have to first add the health app to the My Life app in the Track section. Then you will need to open the iPhone Health App. Click on your profile pic/name, select apps, the Irish Life, then select the required info to be shared (steps/workouts etc)

Feel free to contact Noreen Vaughan (eireoginishealthofficer@yahoo.com) or Assumpta (085-8795475) if you have continued issues with singing up or synching.

Walking Wednesdays at Éire Óg

Despite the rain and wind on Wednesday evening, we had 23 two legged participants and 2 four legged ones! We dodged the puddles and weathered the wind and clocked up approx. 3.5KM. Meeting again at 6.50 next Wed, hope to see you there. Wrap up well if necessary.

Club Lotto

12/01/2023 numbers drawn: 3, 10, 11, 25. There was no jackpot winner, we had two match 3, with €50 each going to Paula Carroll and Carole Linnane. Adrian Kearney won the promoters prize of €25.

Well done to all. The jackpot is now €6375, play online here: https://eireoginis.ie/draws, many thanks for your continued support and best of luck!

Can you help??

We are seeking volunteers to help out with the lotto draw at the clubhouse every Thursday. Currently this responsibility is falling on 1 individual, so we hope to build a panel of helpers to share the load. The hope is to have each volunteer do 1 night a month at most, but for this to happen we need people to step up.

As the lotto is mostly processed online now, the whole process takes approx. 30 minutes. The draw is on Thursdays at the clubhouse, around 9/9.30pm.

Please contact Fergal as soon as possible if you can help out: treasurer.eireogennis.clare@gaa.ie
