The foundation of every good club is based on the volunteers that take on various roles. Our club has many already from coaches, team helpers, first aid, many admin roles, field maintenance, scoreboard operation, club shop, fundraising-events, flag days, Church Gate, lotto draw, cleaning & upkeep..the list goes on and applies to hurling, football, camogie, ladies football at underage and adult levels.
We have a large club, with large membership so there is quite a large workload when all tasks are left to the same people all the time. We need to grow our team of volunteers across the board and ask that each member or parent/guardian/supporter pledge even 1 hour of their team each season. The tasks are easy and support will be given, the rewards are priceless!
Right now, we are focusing on building our volunteer list for the Coffee Dock and our All-Stars helpers.
Our Coffee Dock is located at the back of the club and has not been open much lately due to a lack of personnel to run it. At a minimum it should be open Monday and Friday evenings and Saturday mornings, ideally it would also operate during games hosted at the club. It is a lovely social area and a great place to mingle and meet with other club members. Contact Mary McMahon 086 8117373 or Bernie Warren 087 661 0845
Our All-Stars sessions will return on September 16th, and runs every Tuesday from 6 to 7pm. This initiative provides fun activities for children with additional needs and provides them with an hour of fun and games, it is hugely successful and very rewarding. No experience is required, contact Noreen Vaughan to get involved-087 644 9781.
There has been a change to the processing of Garda Vetting, the applicant now must meet with the Club Children’s Officer before applying. The application then can be made via Foireann as normal. See below extract from the GAA guidelines on this change:
Step 1Applicant and Validator complete the Identity Documentation (In-person)
The applicant must print and complete the GAA NVB1 Invitation Form and meet their Club Children’s Officer (CCO) in person.
It is a requirement by the Garda National Vetting Bureau that an individual seeking vetting is validated that the individual is who they say they are. Therefore, you must provide proof of your identity to be vetted. You must complete this requirement at the initial step of your application, failure to do so will see your application rejected.

Lost Property
Reminder to go into the referees room and check the lost property before Sat 6th at 12. Any items not taken by then can be taken by any member, whatever is remaining by Friday 12th will be given to charity.
We will not be able to keep lost property in the referees room going forward as its purpose is to facilitate referees for games at the club and so it needs to be kept clear so please ensure your child, or yourself! takes home all items after time at the pitch.
