Adult Club Championships
Well done to our senior hurlers on a battling win over Broadford to reach the quarter finals. They have drawn against Wolfe Tones with the games scheduled for the weekend of 12/13th September.
This weekend sees our senior footballers in round 3, safely through to the 1/4s already the game will decide who get stop spot in the group. Our junior C, junior A and junior B footballers continue their campaigns as do our intermediate and junior C camogie teams.

Ladies Football
*U8s*
U8s head north this week to take on Crusheen and Clooney Quin in our next Blitz
👏 We continue to see large numbers with 26 girls down on Wednesday pounding the Astro, hammering goals and generally being awesome.
*U10s*
A massive thank you to Auriol and Brian Fitz of our Senior LGFA Management inviting our *Under 8s and Under 10* girls to play at half time last Sunday
They were delighted to get out on the big pitch and astonished to hear the stand clapping for them. To be beside the "Big Girls" meant so much to these up and coming superstars.

Our Junior Ladies played last Sunday in a 7 goal thriller - losing by only one point to Clooney Quin.
Next outing vs Parteen Meelick in a weeks time.
There were mixed fortunes for our U14 girls in their championship games this week. Our white team traveled to Miltown on Wednesday and battled hard but came up short against a strong Miltown team.
Our red team had their second win in a row in Cooraclare after a high scoring, competitive game that saw some great scores and saves from both sides.
Next up is Clooney Quin for both teams.

*U16s*
Our U16 camogie team got their 2026 championship campaign underway on Wednesday evening against Clooney Quin.
With just 15 players available, the girls showed great commitment and lined out against a strong Clooney Quin side. Despite their efforts, Éire Óg were defeated on a score line of 2-11 to 0-02.
The girls now have a short break before their next match, when they take on Scariff Ogonnelloe on Wednesday, 16th September, 6:30pm throw-in, in Éire Óg.
*U14s*
Our U14 girls have reached the U14A championship semi-final 🇧🇭
After winning the U13B championship last year, we weren’t quite sure what to expect stepping up to A this season but these girls have risen to the challenge brilliantly, and we couldn’t be prouder of them for making it this far.
The girls take on Inagh Kilnamona this Saturday, 29th August, with a 3pm throw-in, in Inagh. Ref: Ian Daly.
It’s an unfortunate clash with our senior footballers fixture.
We’d love to see plenty of Éire Óg support on the sidelines behind the girls, cheering them on. Best of luck to both teams and their managements.
Academy
Hard luck to both our Minor hurling teams, who suffered losses this week to Ballyea and Newmarket-On-Fergus. While the results did not go our way, both teams showed great spirit, fought right to the end, and can be proud of the effort and determination they brought to their games.
Our U14 hurlers kicked off their campaign with a good win over O’Callaghan Mills. Well done to them on a good display of intelligent hurling. Our U14 hurlers and footballers also competed in the Super 10s run by Clare GAA. A good evening was had by all, but unfortunately there was no silverware on this occasion. Our U14 footballers get their campaign up and running on Sunday against Clondegad, and we wish them the very best of luck.
Our U8s and U10s are away this evening at Clare GAA blitzes, where they will get another great opportunity to showcase their skills, enjoy their games, and continue their development.
Our U6 footballers will also get their moment to shine as they play at halftime of the senior match against Miltown Malbay, so please show your support for them and give them a great cheer on the day.
Next week sees a return to football for our minors as they take on Ennistymon. The game takes place in Ennistymon at 6.30pm. Please come out and show your support for the lads as they try to earn a top four spot.
Academy training continues Monday and Friday evenings at 6.30pm for the next few weeks.
As always, the support of our families, supporters, and wider community makes a huge difference to all our young players, so please continue to come out, get behind the teams, and show your support in the weeks ahead. Finally, if there are any parents who would like to get involved in any aspect of running the club, please speak to any of the coaches and they will point you in the right direction.

I started a project recently where I want to try and collect up all the VHS tapes and DVDs of old club matches from around the county and get them digitized and published online for people to watch before they are lost forever is damp attics etc.
I started with my own club here in Ogonnelloe at the beginning of the year and recently received up a load of tapes from St Josephs Doora-Barefield which are currently being published.
There is very little work (and importantly, no costs) required from individual clubs to get their memories digitized. All I need is a local contact who will collect the tapes and DVDs from within the club for me.
If you think your club would be interested in participating in the project, I would appreciate if you could make contact with me directly and I will talk you through the process.

Dear Clubs,
We are delighted to let you know that Munster GAA is offering partial Gaeltacht scholarships to students who attended an Irish-language college in the Gaeltacht this year.
If a student from your club attended a Gaeltacht course this year and would like to apply for a partial scholarship, they simply need to complete the application form and provide the following:
• A letter on headed paper from the college stating the dates the student attended the college.
• A receipt from the college for the total cost of the course.
• A letter from your GAA club, signed by the Club Secretary and Club Irish Officer.
