Update 01 June 2020-End of Cahercalla Fundraiser
A huge thanks to everyone that has supported this campaign through participating, making donations and sharing. Thanks to Fr. Ger Fitzgerald, David Reidy & The Clare Echo for highlighting the event. Our final figure is €8,880 which well surpassed our target-the response from Éire Óg members, their families, friends and the community was immense. Cahercalla fundraising manager, Mary Maloney was blown away by the support. Thanks again to Johnson & Johnson, Mutt Mitts Ireland and Atlantic Clinical Packaging who came forward with equipment for Cahercalla, and to Rochfords who provided the club with PPE for the club grounds on Saturday. Thanks to D2 Print for their professional print job for our safety signage at the club. The attached image shows the participants for each of the time slots, there were approx 180 throughout the day, hope I haven't missed anyone! I'll sign off by saying thanks again to all participants and to each and every one of our donors.
Update 20 May 2020
We are now ready to start taking names for this fundraiser. Click the registration form link here to fill in the online form. You can participate in this event from your own home/area and for the day we have also been given permission for limited supervised access to the Éire Óg grounds and Flannan's field. More info on the form.
There is no fee associated with registration, you make your donation through the GoFundMe link. Please donate what you can to help Cahercalla out. Share the GoFundMe link on your social media pages and send to family and friends also. Many thanks to all who have already shown great interest in this event.
Special thanks to Rochford's Pharmacy who are kindly suppling protective gloves and hand sanitiser for the event and also to Ciaran Sheehan of Mutts Mitts Ireland who has pledged several hundred face masks to Cahercalla.
Cahercalla Community Hospital & Hospice recently made an appeal to fund extra PPE to help relatives visit family members and to offset the cost of extra PPE for staff. Their regular fundraising events are an integral part of the day to day running of the hospice and these have been cancelled due to Covid. They have so far kept Covid19 from their doors and we are delighted to have this chance to help them raise badly needed funds to help keep the virus at bay and keep the show on the road. Link to the news story here.
To support this, Éire Óg will run a 12 hours of action fundraiser on Bank Holiday Saturday, 30th May from 9am to 9pm. We are asking all members, families and friends to participate and support this very worthy cause by signing up for 1 hour of action on the day. You can choose to walk/run/cycle, do football or hurling keepie uppies/wall shots/kicks or any activity of your choice. This can be done from any location.
We will ask participants to donate a minimum €10 entry fee (€5 if U18) to the Cahercalla GoFundMe page that will be set up for this and also to share the link with your families/friends and to promote it on your social media accounts. We will ask you to send us photos/video of you participating for promoting on the club social media accounts.
Registration will be done via an online form only, this will be published in the coming days along with the Cahercalla GoFundMe link.
More info to follow, for now, mark the date in your diary and start spreading the word far and wide and lets show our support for our local community hospital.
