"Caint is Craic" is a very informal gathering of people of all ages, who are interested in making use of their cupla focal or indeed exploring those recesses of their mind where their school Irish now slumbers awaiting resurrection, free from the constraints of the Tuiseal Ginideach, Modh Foshuíteach and other obstacles placed in their way while in school. We just try to conduct simple conversations in a mix of Irish and English around everyday topics, such as the awful weather, the latest local news, the fortunes of the Clare hurlers and footballers-in fact anything anybody wants to spout about. We occasionally use snippets from TV programmes, píosaí ceoil etc. to stimulate discussion. All for an hour in the clubhouse Committee Room on Thursday evenings, 9-10 pm, followed by even more informal conversation in the bar afterwards.
