Good news corner!
16 refs in the country take charge of the All-Ireland hurling championship, and for first time our own Niall ‘Molly’ Malone will be one of that “Elite group” of referee’s. Congrats Niall and the very best of luck from all at Éire Óg.
Niall O'Connor won 7th prize in National Club Draw, a super prize of a package for football and hurling finals 2025, well done to NIall. The Club also came up trumps in the Club Specific Draw, winning €1000. Thanks once again to all that supported the club effort in the National Club Draw.
Academy
It was great to see so many young players and parents up around the club last Monday evening for our first Academy Football session of the year. We are always looking for parents to become involved to help out running sessions in any way.
The U18 Footballers had a good win over Clondegad on Sunday in Rd. 2 of the League. Their next outing is a trip to Corofin on Friday, 4th April where they can hopefully secure a Cup Semi-final place.
The U18 Hurling League continues this Sunday and our lads have an early throw in at 10am away to Sixmilebridge.
The U15 Footballers get their season underway on Saturday at 11am in Eire Og when they entertain Kilmurry-Ibrickane in Rd. 1 of the "A" Championship.
The U13 football panel continue their preparations for their upcoming Championship with challenges with St. Joseph's Doora-Barefield on Friday and Sunday in Gurteen.
On Saturday Corofin host the U13 hurlers for a challenge game at the north Clare venue.
Best of luck to everyone involved over the coming days.
Camogie
Our u15s got off to a winning start last Sunday beating Feakle-Killanena. Their next match will be on April 5th V Clooney-Quin.
U13s commence their championship on Wednesday evening in Eire Og @ 6:30pm against Broadford and our U11s host Cratloe this Saturday morning for the first of this year’s blitzes.
Intermediate ladies were unsuccessful against Clarecastle/Ballyea on Friday evening, their 2nd round game is this Saturday in Gurteen against Doora Barefield @ 5pm.
Ella Cahill is on the extended panel of the Clare camogie team playing the Div 1B league final on Saturday v Antrim. Well done to Ella who scored 5 points in last week’s round 5 match in Cusack Park.
All our girls would love to see your support on the sidelines.
Ladies Football
Our U16 girls narrowly lost out by a single point to Liscannor in a high scoring contest. Great performance but just came up short. Next up are Clarecastle (away) on April 1st. Midweek training for U12 and U14 resuming on 3rd April.
Best wishes also to our Junior girls in Div 5 Round 3 game v Wolfe tones this Sunday at 10am in Shannon Camogie pitch.

Bhí an-lá spóirt Dé hAoine ar Faiche an Aonaigh in Inis, nuair a tháinig breis is 160 dalta le chéile i gcóir bliots iománaíochta agus camógaíochta tré Ghaeilge. Ceithre bhunscoil ar fad a ghlac páirt, Gaelscoil Mhichíl Cíosóg, Scoil Náisiúnta na hInse, Bunscoil na mBráithre agus Educate Together and the whole event was planned and supervised by our super-efficient Games Development Officer, Tomás Barry. A great time was had by all and even a rather hefty shower of rain/hailstones towards the end of the event didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the participants.
Buíochas ó chroí leis na scoileanna a ghlac páirt, leis na múinteoirí as ranganna a 3 a chabhraigh le Tomás agus go háirithe le Tomás é féin as an sár obair a rinne sé."
